Description

At approximately 5:15 this evening a person was hit by a white construction van going north on Portola near the bike lane by the 52 & 48 MUNI stop. The Medical Examiner and police were still on scene as of 8 pm. The driver was a Latino man in his 30's and was being questioned by police. A newer model Mercedes was also stopped nearby not sure about the connection. I saw the body laying lifeless on the ground 3 hours earlier. I'm sorry I have no further information.
