Mufasa the sea lion goes back to his ocean home on July 14, 2012 at Rodeo Beach! Volunteers from The Marine Mammal Center in Sausalito, CA rescued this California sea lion - nicknamed Mufasa after the popular Lion King character - on July 1 in Monterey County. The pinniped had become entangled in monofilament line that was cutting into his neck. Veterinarians at the hospital cut away the entanglement and treated the wounds. If all goes well, the king of the "sea" lion pride may soon be back in the jungles of the ocean and hopefully, away from ocean trash!
